Welcome to Arrowhead

We got tickets to the Chiefs pre-season game on Thursday! So Dad took Julia for her first live Chiefs experience. Before the game,we stopped at Taco Bell across from the stadium to eat, a severe thunderstorm rolled in, they delayed the Chiefs game, Taco Bell lost power, and we ended up staying there for an hour and a half! Finally, the storm parted and we walked to Arrowhead just a couple minutes after kickoff. Even though it was pre-season, it was much louder and high energy then any sports even Julia's been too. This ain't no Royals game! Luckily, the Chiefs scored three touchdowns in the first 45 minutes so she got to cheer and dance and scream and clap many many times.

Of course, staying in one small seat for three hours is not possible in a 5 year old world. So, we took silly pictures, went for snacks, and chased KC Wolf until we caught him for a photo opp. Julia loved the malt . . . maybe too much. She looks a little malt tipsy. I'm cutting her off at 1/2 a malt next time.

Julia insisted we stay until the end. Seriously! I asked several times if she wanted to leave, but she wouldn't have it. She kept asking, "Is it midnight?" She was loving the action. After the game ended we took one final picture, where it appears Julia's malt tipsy state has moved into full blown malt puke prevention. Finally, after a night of Chiefs football, lots of cheering and screaming, loads of sugar goodness, and a long walk back to the car, the night ended as it should: with Julia passed out in the car. We love football.

Sophia Says Hi

Okay, she didn't actually "say" hi, but she did request a greater presence on our blog.

A Box

So, Julia fell asleep in a box. Needless to say, this Kindergarten thing is really wearing her out. It was real nap too. Like 30-40 minutes . . . asleep . . . in a box.

Kindergarten!

Here are a few pics from our "long" trek to Kindergarten. Up the street and around the corner. I like the one with Julia walking just out of reach of her parents shadows.

More Kindergarten!

Here she is in front of her school, Rolling Ridge Elementary. She was ready to go as she walked down the hallway, and even more ready as soon as she entered the room. She hung up her backpack, went to her seat, and went right to work. We didn't even get a good-bye hug and kiss. She's off and running!

Another Promotion

Not to be out done by her big sister, Sophia has now been promoted to a new car seat. Good-bye baby seat! Julia enrolled for Kindergarten yesterday and will find out who her teacher is in just a few days we hope. We'll certainly post some "first day" pictures on the 15th of August.
